Who We Are

White Crane is a healing collaborative made up of individuals with a common vision of sharing their gifts of knowledge and wisdom in order to bring balance and healing to the world in which we live.

History of White Crane

White Crane was founded in 2001 by internationally respected healer, teacher and author Jan Rupp.

In the wake of 9/11 as we all found ourselves thrust into the turmoil of change ushered in by the new millennium, Jan, like many others, felt compelled to answer to a calling both urgent and familiar.

At the age of seven, Jan found herself as a young girl in the unusual position of assuming responsibilities within the local Catholic Church normally relegated to an altar boy. On several occasions while conducting solitary chores in the maintenance of the church and altar she recalls being prompted by an inner voice which informed her that God is not just in the tabernacle, the chalice or the monstrance but within the heart and the essence of all beings. She received instruction that what she was to do with her Life was to hold hands with like-minded others and help to bring this understanding to the rest of humanity.

Having spent the last 30 years studying various religious and healing traditions from around the world, Jan embraces the importance of joining together and sharing those teachings with the world.

The White Crane Symbol

The White Crane is revered in many cultures throughout the world as a symbol of wisdom, fidelity, vigilance and discipline. They are frequently seen as messengers of the gods. In many myths and folktales the crane is portrayed as “the animal guide” who led the hero on his adventures. As a totem cranes help bring light into the darkness and are associated with the ability to take people to higher levels of spiritual consciousness.
Cranes are also renowned for their spectacular and mesmerizing dances. Greek and Roman myths tended to portray the dance of cranes as a love of joy and a celebration of life.

It is the intention of the White Crane healing collaborative to provide a resource for healing and unity based on the principles of unconditional Love and compassion. The purpose of the collaborative is to facilitate a smooth transition into the new millennium and a new way of being which is both joyful and acknowledging of the celebration we call Life.
